
During the „Sports Economics Day“, one topic in sport economics is focused from a scientific and practical perspective. Researchers and practitioners from the field of sport economics present their results and experiences.
The “Sports Economics Day” is a public event with different topics every year and accordingly diverse distinguished speakers. At the first “Sports Economics Day” on October 29. 2013, scientists and practitioners discussed with the audience about the integrating effects of youth sports. Professor Christina Felfe from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and Professor Uwe Pühse from the University of Basel presented their research results about “Sports and the Development of Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Skills of Children”. Matthias Remund, directors of the Federal Department of Sports, reported his experiences from the perspective of sports in practice and Jakob Schlichtig presented the “Amandala EduFottball” project. At the end of the event there was an active panel discussion about youth sports.
