We do research on macroeconomic issues, with a particular interest in consumption, financial markets and labor markets. For this purpose we use and develop quantitative methods to answer policy-relevant macroeconomic questions. Furthermore, we are engaged in initiatives to monitor consumption in Switzerland and to understand the effects of macroeconomic policy based on transaction data.
