Monika Bütler is an independent economist, and a Honorary Professor at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). As a co-founder of the SEW-HSG in 2008, she led the institute as a member of the Executive Directorate. She was a full Professor of Economics and Vice President at the University of St. Gallen until January 2021. Her economic expertise is in public policy and managerial economics, and she frequently participates in the public debate on economic and policy issues.
