Managing Director
Michael is a professor of econometrics at the University of St.Gallen and managing director of the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research. He develops machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to improve causal analysis and decision-making models. Michael contributes to mcf code base and aims to make the software available to practitioners in both industry and academia.
Assistant Professor
Jana is an assistant professor at the University of St.Gallen. She designs new methods for causal machine learning and decision-making. Jana works on several projects applying the mcf algorithm for effect estimation and optimal treatment allocation.
Hugo is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of St.Gallen. He has been involved in the creation of the Python package mcf since the beginning. Hugo develops new causal machine learning methods, deploys the software code, and applies it in empirical work. He is experienced in teaching causal machine learning and software implementation.
PhD student
Hannah is a PhD student at the University of St.Gallen. Her research deals with developing, implementing, and applying new quantitative methods in the realm of machine learning and optimal treatment allocation. Hannah has made a significant contribution to the publication and improvement of the mcf Python package and its documentation.
PhD student
Federica is a PhD student at the University of St.Gallen. Her research focuses on causal machine learning and decision making. She applies the Python package mcf in her empirical work and thereby continuously contributes to the improvement of the mcf code and its documentation.
PhD student
Ana is a PhD student at the University of St.Gallen and a current team member. She tests the updates to the mcf algorithm and consistently contributes to enhancing both the mcf algorithm and its documentation, for which she developed the backend.
PhD student
Linda is a PhD student at the University of St.Gallen and an active team member. She tests the updates of the mcf code and regularly contributes to improving the mcf algorithm and documentation.
