Empirische Wirtschaftsforschung Information to the chair Econometrics, headed by Professor Dr. Michael Lechner. The main goals of our research are to provide empirical tools for policy analysis and policy advice as well as the direct acquisition of knowledge in selected areas of the economy. To this end, we extend existing economic and econometric methods, develop new estimation methods (both with particular emphasis on Causal Machine Learning) and tap new data resources. We implement corresponding pilot applications either independently or in collaboration with other interested institutions and researchers. The policy areas that attract most of our interest currently are labour markets, health economics and sports economics.
