Macroeconomics Research Group on Macroeconomics, headed by Professor Dr. Winfried Koeniger. We do research on macroeconomic issues, with a particular interest in consumption, financial markets and labor markets. For this purpose we use and develop quantitative methods to answer policy-relevant macroeconomic questions such as: How does household indebtedness matter for macroeconomic fluctuations? Is there a socially efficient level of household debt? What is the socially optimal amount of redistribution given that households invest into human capital? How does redistribution affect the intergenerational transmission of human capital?
